8-Day Irish Adventure Tour

Day 1: Dublin Tour & Book of Kells

Start your tour at Dublin Airport and transfer to your hotel. At 2:00 p.m. tour central Dublin to see stately Georgian houses, colorful squares, public buildings and more. Visit Trinity College’s campus to view the 8th century illuminated manuscript of the Book of Kells.



Day 2: Glendalough & Waterford

Visit 6th century Glendalough monastic site with its round tower and church ruins, set in a picturesque valley in the Wicklow Mountains. Tour the Dunbrody Famine Ship to learn about emigration before driving to Waterford. Sip a welcome drink and discuss your itinerary. After dinner take a brief walking tour around Waterford. (B, D)



Day 3: Waterford Crystal & Titanic Walk

Watch glass blowing and cutting at the House of Waterford Crystal and see unique trophies. Drive to Cobh for a walking tour around places associated with the fatal voyage of RMS Titanic. Visit the Blarney Woollen Mills and, if you wish, head to Blarney Castle on your own to kiss the famous stone. Drive through the rugged scenery to Killarney. (B, D)



Day 4: Ring of Kerry & Skellig Experience

Experience the popular Ring of Kerry tour where the road winds between mountains and coast offering scenic views at every turn. Stop to admire breath-taking beauty and take photos. Visit the Skellig Experience to learn about the nearby rocky islands and drive through Cahirciveen, Waterville and Sneem before returning to Killarney. (B, D)



Day 5: Flying Boats & Cliffs of Moher

Visit Foynes Flying Boat Museum, which recalls the early days of air travel in the 30s and 40s. Irish coffee was first created here. Stop in Bunratty Village before viewing the Cliffs of Moher rising to heights of 700 feet above the wild Atlantic swells. Pass through the Burren Country and around Galway Bay to Galway. (B, D)



Day 6: Yeats’ Grave & Derry Walk

Drive north through the pilgrimage town of Knock to Sligo to view the grave of the Nobel prize-winning poet, W. B. Yeats. Travel around Donegal Bay and through the majestic and rugged scenery of Donegal to Derry. Take a guided walk around the old medieval walls, which completely encircle the old part of the city. Day 7: Giant’s Causeway & Irish Show

Visit the Giant’s Causeway, enormous hexagonal columns formed by volcanic activity over 60 million years ago. Drive to Belfast for a visit to Titanic Belfast; the state-of-the-art attraction is devoted to the development and construction of the ill-fated liner that was built in the nearby docks. Continue south to Dublin city and in the evening drive to a pub for a hearty dinner and traditional Irish songs. (B, D)



Day 8: Back Home from Dublin
Transfer to Dublin Airport in good time to check in for your flight. (B)
